How Booking Works: When to Book Holiday Lights in Cypress, and What the 65% Deposit Holds
Most people start thinking about holiday lights the week after Halloween. So does everyone else on the street. In Texas, searches for Christmas light installation climb through late October and hit their peak in the first two weeks of November, and installers’ calendars follow the same curve. If you want your home lit before family arrives for Thanksgiving on November 26, the timing of your booking matters more than anything else.
How the install calendar fills
A holiday lighting crew can only light so many homes a day, and most homeowners want the same window: after Halloween, before Thanksgiving. The early dates go first, then the weekends, then everything before the holiday. Late bookers still get installs, but with fewer choices and usually closer to December.
Booking early doesn’t mean your lights go up early. You reserve a date that works for you; the lights can go up in mid-November and still be the first on the block to glow.
What the deposit does
A 65% deposit reserves your install date. It locks your spot on the calendar so the crew can plan routes and you aren’t bumped when the busiest weeks arrive. Once the deposit is in, your date is held.
The deposit is also when the plan becomes final: which rooflines, which trees, warm white or color. Settling those details at booking means install day is quick, with no surprises.
A simple booking timeline
- Get a quote. Send your address; we measure the roofline from satellite and street view and come back with a design.
- Choose your date. Pick an install date from what’s open.
- Reserve it. The 65% deposit holds that date.
- Check with your HOA if needed. Many Cypress communities have their own guidelines. Check your association’s guidelines before install day; we design to them.
- Install day. The crew hangs the lights and sets the timer.
What you’re paying for
- You buy your lights from Majestic and pay for installation labor.
- From year two on, you pay labor only. Your lights are already yours.
- Lifetime warranty on our Christmas lighting products: any broken parts are replaced each year you sign up for installation.
Returning customers book the same way each year, and because the lights are already cut to the house, installs tend to go quickly.
Timing tips for Cypress homes
- Before Halloween: the most date choices. A good time to get a quote and settle the design.
- First two weeks of November: peak demand. Book as early in this window as you can.
- Before Thanksgiving: remaining dates go fast; be flexible on the day.
- After Thanksgiving: installs continue while dates remain, but expect a narrower choice.
Weather and flexibility
November in Cypress can bring a stretch of rain or a passing storm front. Roof work on a wet, slick roofline isn’t safe, so an install day can occasionally shift. Booking early builds in room for that: if your date moves, there are still good days left before Thanksgiving. Late bookers have less slack, which is one more reason the first half of November is the best time to reserve.
It also helps to know your own calendar. If you’re hosting a holiday party or have family flying in on a particular weekend, mention it when you book so the install date lands before the people you’re decorating for arrive.
New homes in Bridgeland and Towne Lake
If you’ve just moved into a newer home in Bridgeland or Towne Lake, your first holiday season is the time the lights are measured and cut for your rooflines. Allow a little extra lead time for that first design. After that, each season is a straightforward reinstall.
